Design & Style

The design and style of your site is crucial. The design of your site is in essence the interface by which a user interacts with the information being provided.

Web site design is about creating a design that is appropriate to the needs of the organization or body developing the site. It must accurately portray the image you want to get across to your audience. As outlined in 'Your requirements', we must understand why you want a web site, who it is for and what it should and should not do before we can develop a design that will meet all of these needs.

A poorly designed web site will turn visitors off in a number of ways. Developing your site design is all about putting forward an environment in which the user is both comfortable, impressed and easily able to navigate to their chosen destination. It must, of course represent the organization - therefore colour schemes and logos must be present within the design.

Web site design is continuously evolving, what looked good 3 years ago looks ancient today. With the advent of faster computers, bigger screens and high speed internet access such as broadband users are demanding more in terms of visual stimuli to keep them interested. All of this development in technology poses difficult questions for an organization wanting to maintain an up to date web site.

With all of this 'speed', designers are able to develop more complex and design rich web sites that use more colour depth and make use of technologies which, perhaps, are not necessarily appropriate.

RSD advocate the use of appropriate technologies across the board, we have a good understanding of what users want from a web site and are able to develop content and design rich sites to meet those needs.
