Our Service / Your requirements

Before we can develop your ideas into an effective solution, we must first understand why you want a web site, who it is for and what it should and should not do.

WHY
Although this sounds like a very simple question: "why do you want a web site?", it is surprising how many people say "because we thought we should!"

A web site needs a function, a role, a reason to exist.

  • Do you want a site that simply provides users with information relating to your business?
  • Do you want a site that provides users with the ability to purchase products or services from your business?
  • Do you want a site that enables users to interact with your business? ie check order status, stock levels, get quotes, change the details you hold about them etc.
  • Do you need your site to raise your profile? Do you want it to raise turnover via sales? Or do you want to streamline your business, reduce overheads and let the site work for you?

WHO
Again, a very simple question: "who will use your site?".

  • Is it primarily for your existing customers?
  • Will the general public use it?
  • Is it for a specific target audience, i.e. 16 - 24 year olds?
  • Will your audience be English speaking, or will you need a multi-lingual site?
  • Do you need to present information/data in a certain way, e.g. do you want to provide technical 3D/CAD drawings for customers? If so then does your site need to make use of specific web technologies?

WHAT
The only way to establish what your site needs to do is to answer, in full, the above questions. What your site should and should not do is derived from the needs to have a web site, and the needs of the intended users of the site.

Quite simply, if your site does not meet the needs of the organization or the audience for whom it is intended then it cannot succeed.

The experience we have built up over the years has provided us with valuable insight into what really makes a web site work, both for it's users and it's owners. Click 'what we believe' for a list of what we believe makes a web site work well.
